Open RAN Aggregator: The Open RAN Aggregator is responsible for radio connection management, mobility management and QoS management for the quality of end user experience. Different RAN functionalities are consolidated on this software platform, reducing complexity and making overall network maintenance simpler and less resource intensive. Currently released Open RAN Aggregator function virtualizes vBSC/PCU 2G gateway, 3G gateway/vRNC/HNBGW, 4G gateway/HeNBGW/X2 gateway. It acts as a Gateway for all RAN interfaces towards the Core. It can interoperate with any Standards Compliant Core or Peer RAN function. As a result, it helps create a multi-vendor, open ecosystem of interoperable components for indoor and outdoor deployments.
Parallel Wireless’s 2G/3G/4G Open RAN solution enables openness through the complete decoupling of hardware and software functionality. This functional separation enables the software to support all the different protocol splits between DUs and CUs based on available backhaul/fronthaul options.
